Stronghold Roasting Championship is coming to rRebel
10 competitors in Norway - 19th September
10 competitors in Denmark - 26th September
10 competitors in Sweden - 3rd. October
Compete locally, and win your spot.
The winner in each country gets to travel to Seoul, South Korea, and compete in the Stronghold Roasting Championship finals.
And before Korea, the winners will all get a change to train at rRebel and prepare for the finals.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
01 - GET YOUR COFFEE
500 g of the same green coffee for every competitor.
02 - ROAST
Roast manually on a Stronghold S2. You can make multiple batches.
03 - PICK YOUR BEST
Choose your best roast and submit it.
04 - BLIND CUPPING
Once the roasting is done, we open the doors. Join the blind cupping, taste the coffees and help us judge.
05 - HANG OUT
Coffee, food, drinks and good company. Open to everyone who wants to join us!
More than just a competition, SRC is designed around community, accessibility and enjoyment, giving roasters and baristas of different experience levels the chance to learn from each other, taste together and have some fun along the way. At the end of the day, we’ll crown our National Stronghold Roasting Champion, who earns a place at the 2026 SRC Global Final in Seoul.

FAQ
Do I need to know anything about roasting to participate?
No. The Stronghold Roasting Competition is for everyone who wants try out and test coffee roasting.
Do I need to bring anything to the competition?
No. All you need is to bring yourself and good vibes! We provide the green coffee and the equipment.
What kind of roaster will I use?
All roasts will be performed on a Stronghold S2 coffee roaster - a fully electric roaster with hot air and halogen heat sources.
How long does the competition last?
The competition is a full day event. You will receive a time slot during the day, and when everyone is finished, we open the doors for a social gathering and cup the coffees blindly.
How will the competition be judged?
Each coffee will be judged by a small team of coffee professionals where the coffees will receive a score. Then the coffees will be judged by the public by vote. The winner will be the coffee that receives the highest scores and the most votes combined.
